1. SFU says NO to the Pipelines
The Talon would like to show solidarity with the land defenders of Lheklhukxayte on Burnaby Mountain who are resisting resource extraction and pipeline expansion from Kinder Morgan. Please join SFPIRG and many confirmed speakers for a peaceful rally this Thursday, 11:00am at the SFU Convocation Mall to show that UBC students also stand with the Caretakers of this land.

2. AMS Trek for Tuition and Housing
This Trek will be an opportunity to hear from AMS executives as well as for students to voice their opposition and concerns regarding the housing and tuition fee increases. Please also come out to the Terry Project and AMS’ BARtalk at The Gallery afterwards which will have the following panel speakers:
- Dr. Louise Cowin: Vice President, Students, UBC
- Anji Redish: Vice Provost and Associate Vice President, Enrolment and Academic Facilities, UBC
- Deanna Rexe: Graduate student in the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University, who studies tuition policy formulation in Canada.
- May Anne Then, President, International Students Association, UBC.

3. Omar Film Screening + Discussion
UBC’s Solidarity for Palestinian Human Rights (SPHR UBC) will be screening Omar, a film on the titular Palestinian baker turned freedom fighter and his struggles with love and betrayal within ongoing apartheid and occupation. The event will be wheelchair accessible and vegetarian-friendly.

4. Capitalism is the Crisis: Radical Politics in the Age of Austerity — Screening and Discussion
Cinema Politica UBC (with the support of the Social Justice Centre at UBC) will be hosting their first screening, Capitalism is the Crisis: Radical Politics in the Age of Austerity, followed by a discussion about localized resistance with Glen Coulthard and Tamo Campos. Admission is by donation and no one will be turned away!
