The Simon Fraser Public Interest Research Group (SFPIRG) hosts a panel discussion (and Q & A) on the complex relationship between food, consumers, and inequality. An in-depth look at an every-day topic the panel will focus on the food justice movement while looking at structural issues and the path to a sustainable future.
Panelists: LeyAnn Meau (Guerrilla Gardeners Coordinator, Purple Thistle), Cease Wys (Indigenous Food Sovereignty Activist), and Paul Taylor (Executive Director of Gordon Neighbourhood House).

Part of “The Great Divide” series at the Vancouver International Film Festival, Concerning Violence is a feature film about colonial resistance in Africa centered on the writings of Frantz Fanon. Directed by Göran Hugo Olsson, narrated by Lauryn Hill, and featuring archival footage from a number of anti-colonial movements.

Hometown sweethearts Weed and Mass Marriage play with Olympia natives Naomi Punk. Antisocial is a rad venue that usually fills up QUICK for these sort of sweaty shows. All-ages (!!!) and $5. Lots of noise, lots of punk, this will not disappoint.
